Looking for an experienced AP Officer to support a finance team in a permanent part-time capacity

Accounts Payable Officer | Part-Time
A large, well‑respected not‑for‑profit organisation is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join their small and supportive finance team. Based in New Town, Hobart, this permanent part-time role offers stability, flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to a purpose‑driven position is ideal for someone seeking consistent hours and work–life balance while remaining hands‑on in a professional finance environment.
Your new role

You will work closely with a small accounts team and take responsibility for the day‑to‑day accounts payable function. The role is varied and will suit someone who enjoys accuracy, routine and being part of a collaborative team. Key responsibilities will include:

* End-to-end processing of accounts payable invoices
* Managing supplier enquiries and reconciling accounts
* Preparing and assisting with payment runs
* Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
* Providing general finance and administrative support as required.

This is a permanent role working 4 days per week, 4 hours per day (16 hours per week).
What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring prior experience in accounts payable or a similar finance position, along with a reliable and detail‑focused approach to your work. You will also demonstrate:

* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* The ability to manage your workload independently
* Clear communication skills and a team‑focused mindset
* Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft ExcelExperience within the not‑for‑profit sector will be highly regarded, though not essential.
