This consultancy has built a strong reputation within the construction and property industry for its technical expertise, collaborative approach, and focus on quality outcomes. Their team works closely with leading architects, developers, and builders on some of Sydney's most interesting and complex projects — from high-end residential and commercial developments to large mixed-use precincts.
They take pride in what they do and genuinely invest in developing their people. Here, you'll be surrounded by professionals who love construction, understand design, and are passionate about mentoring the next generation of Building Surveyors.
This is a place where you'll learn fast, be challenged technically, and gain exposure to projects that will set you up for long-term success in the industry.
The Opportunity
If you've come from construction management, contract administration or architecture, and you're starting to think about where your career could go next — this could be your turning point.
Building Surveying offers a great balance between construction, design, and regulation. It's technical, highly respected, and in growing demand across Australia. This cadet role is designed to give you full training and a clear pathway toward accreditation, under the guidance of experienced and supportive mentors.
You'll work across both office and site environments, gaining an understanding of how projects are assessed, approved, and inspected — and how smart design decisions translate into compliant, buildable outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assisting senior surveyors with plan assessments, site inspections, and certification tasks.
* Learning to interpret and apply the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
* Reviewing drawings and documentation for compliance and buildability.
* Attending construction sites to observe works, understand detailing, and identify potential non-compliance.
* Liaising with architects, engineers, builders, and consultants to support the delivery of compliant and practical design solutions.
* Building a strong technical foundation that will lead to professional accreditation.
About You
We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in how buildings are put together — from the design through to the final inspection. You might currently be working as a Contract Administrator, Site Coordinator, or Architectural Graduate, and are now ready to pivot your career into something more technical and regulated.
You'll bring
* A degree or background in Construction Management, Contract Administration, Architecture or a related discipline.
* Site experience — understanding how drawings translate into real-world construction.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with a wide range of industry professionals.
* An analytical mindset, great attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new technical frameworks.
* A driver's licence and the ability to attend project sites across Sydney.
Why You'll Love It
* Competitive starting salary ($80,000 - $100,000 + Super) while you learn the industry with the chance to early the big $$ once accreditation is obtained.
* You'll be mentored by some of the best in the business — people who enjoy sharing their knowledge.
* Exposure to diverse and technically challenging projects.
* A structured pathway toward Building Surveyor accreditation with ongoing professional development support.
* A welcoming and collaborative team culture that values initiative and curiosity.
* A long-term career path in an area of the industry that's growing and in high demand.
