About the role
The Social Worker - Alukura Maternity Services (SWAMS) provides high quality, efficient, culturally responsive and trauma informed social work services to women receiving maternity care with the Alukura Midwifery Group Practice (AMGP), or an Alukura Midwife. The SWAMS contributes to collaborative care planning and case management, assists clients in accessing community services (e.g., Centrelink and housing), and promotes client self-efficacy and independence.
The SWAMS role aims to improve maternal and infant health outcome, strengthen parenting capacity and family wellbeing, address the social determinants of health, support early intervention and child safety and promote culturally strong, safe pregnancies.
