At Austart Homes, we are seeking a talented and experienced Quality Control Building Inspector to join our team on a contract basis of MIN 3 days a week in the Cairns Region, QLD. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety throughout our construction projects. As a Quality Control Building Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring all aspects of the construction process to identify and address any issues or non-conformities.
Australian citizenship is required for this position.
What you'll be doing
* Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with building codes, industry standards, and Austart Homes' quality requirements.
* Identify and document any defects or non-conformities, and work closely with the construction team to implement corrective actions.
* Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to address quality-related concerns and ensure projects are completed to the highest standards.
* Maintain detailed records and documentation of all inspections, including any issues identified and the resolution process.
* Provide comprehensive reporting to management, highlighting areas of concern and recommending improvements to quality control processes.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of Austart Homes' quality management systems and procedures.
What we're looking for
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Building Inspector or similar role in the construction industry.
* Thorough understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards applicable to residential and commercial construction.
* Specific experience in residential construction is essential for this role.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex quality-related issues.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately document and report on inspection findings.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with construction teams and stakeholders at all levels.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in building inspection, quality assurance, or a related field.
* Trade qualification in a relevant construction discipline is required.
* Valid driver's licence is mandatory for this position.
