The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for a results-driven, people-focused Business Development Manager with a proven track record in sales to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives on driving growth, building strong client relationships, and delivering measurable outcomes.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will play a key role in expanding our footprint by identifying new business opportunities and securing partnerships with local employers.

This is a hands-on, sales-focused role where you will take ownership of the full business development cycle, from lead generation through to conversion, while maintaining a high standard of customer service and administrative delivery.

You'll be responsible for driving growth initiatives, expanding our employer network, and creating meaningful opportunities for apprentices and trainees.

Success in this role will be measured through achieving monthly outreach targets, converting leads into active partnerships, and contributing to sustained growth in apprenticeship placements across Queensland.

Key responsibilities:

Business Development & Employer Engagement

* Proactively identify, approach, and secure new employer partnerships.
* Drive outbound sales activity, including cold calling, networking, and face-to-face meetings.
* Research industry trends and identify opportunities.
* Build, manage, and grow a strong pipeline of prospective employers.
* Develop and maintain long-term, commercially valuable relationships.
* Prepare tailored proposals and promotional materials for clients.
* Leverage our CRM system to track activity, pipeline, and performance.
* Represent our organisation at expos, events, and industry forums.
* Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales and outreach targets.
* Convert leads into signed employer partnerships.
* Contribute to quarterly and annual growth targets.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement

* Respond to enquiries from employers, apprentices, and the public.
* Deliver friendly, professional, solutions-focused service every step of the way.
* Build lasting relationships and support our growing network.
* Work collaboratively with internal recruitment and mentoring teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
About You

You are commercially astute and sales-focused, bringing a strong track record of achieving and exceeding targets. You're confident in your ability to make impactful face-to-face introductions and influence decision makers, supported every step of the way by our national business development team.

You'll thrive in this role if you:
