Disability Support Worker – Ulong
We are currently seeking committed and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Ulong, supporting a gentle male client with complex needs.
Client Overview:
Our client is a warm individual who enjoys listening to music, spending time in familiar places, car rides, swimming, picnics, and one-on-one interaction with trusted staff and family. He lives with Autism (Level 3), intellectual disability, full vision impairment, and epilepsy. He has limited verbal communication and may become distressed when overstimulated, in pain, or prior to a seizure.
Support Needs:
We are looking for calm, competent, and compassionate individuals who can provide consistent and respectful support. Understanding non-verbal cues, responding to escalated behaviours safely, and building strong rapport are essential to this role.
Training and guidance will be provided to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role.
Shifts - Flexible availability preferred; a set roster may be offered to the right candidates
* Monday to Friday: 7:45am to 3:00pm & 3:00pm to 9:00pm
* Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am to 3:00pm & 3:00pm to 12:00am
* Occasional Sleepovers on Saturdays
To be successful, you will have:
* Experience working with individuals with complex support needs
* A calm, compassionate, and patient approach
* Excellent communication skills, especially with non-verbal individuals
* Confidence in managing behaviours of concern
* Current First Aid, CPR, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check
Pay Rates
SCHADS Award E3.1 Casual Rates (before tax):
* Base hourly rate: $35.15
* Afternoon shift (shift ends between 8pm and midnight, Monday to Friday): $38.67
* Active Night shift (Finishes after midnight or starts before 6am, Monday to Friday) $39.37
* Saturday: $49.21
* Sunday: $63.27
* Public holiday: $77.33
