About the Role
The Hospital Medical Officer will provide safe, effective, and patient‐centred care under appropriate supervision, delivering care across the General (Acute) ward and Urgent Care Centre (UCC). The role involves assessing patients, coordinating investigations and management plans, contributing to multidisciplinary team care, and facilitating discharge planning.
Responsibilities
* Clinical and patient care duties on the General Ward under the supervision of senior medical staff
* Clinical care to patients presenting to the UCC under the supervision of senior medical staff
* Safely prescribing medications
* Formulation of individual management plans for patients, including active participation in multidisciplinary teams
* Assisting with discharge planning, ensuring referrals and follow‐ups are arranged
Mandatory Requirements
* MBBS or equivalent qualification
* Current registration with APHRA as a medical practitioner
* Recency of practice in Australia
* Excellent communication skills, including teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting
* Demonstrated initiative and contribution to a positive team culture in a sub‐regional rural hospital
* Valid Police Check within 12 months of issue date
* Entitlement to work in Australia
* Valid Working with Children Check
* Seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers per Department of Health directions
