Senior Quantity Surveyor Role
We are looking for a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to support project development in Geelong and Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various traditional quantity surveying functions including estimation, planning and cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors to ensure successful project outcomes
* Facilitating new business opportunities through strong industry networks and relationships
* Master-plan and feasibility budgets to inform strategic decision-making
* Cost checking of developing designs to optimize project value
* Value engineering to minimize costs without compromising quality
* Tender evaluations and analysis to select the best options
* Negotiating contracts to protect our interests
* Managing cash flow and procurement processes to maintain project momentum
* Providing timely and accurate cost reporting to stakeholders
* Evaluating variations to ensure fair and reasonable outcomes
* Preparing and presenting valuations and final account reports
* Resolving claims through effective negotiation and settlement
* Analyzing investments to identify opportunities for growth
* Developing and implementing benchmarking processes to improve efficiency and productivity
The ideal candidate will have:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Extensive experience in cost estimating and planning software / Cost X
* Experience managing a broad range of build projects across different sectors
* RICS / AIQS accreditation is highly regarded
* A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
* Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of industry experience as a QS, with experience on projects in Aged Care, Health, Social Housing, Workspace fitout and Sports & Rec.
