Bacchus Marsh Childcare & Kindergarten is a private early learning centre. We are committed to excellence in childcare and ensuring children's safety and well-being. Our service is known for providing excellent early learning opportunities for families with children aged from six weeks old to five years of age. At Excellent Education & Care ELC, we seek a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Lead Educator to join our friendly team. As a 2IC/Educational Leader, you will be working very closely with Centre Director and a positive, caring, dedicated, and supportive team in a centre focusing on well-being and encouraging teamwork and communication.
Responsibilities:
* Take full charge of the service in the absence of the Centre Director
* Assist the Centre Director to manage the day to day operation of the service
* Developing and implementing an innovative early learning program reflective of current early years thinking and practice
* Have in-depth knowledge of the EYLF and NQS and how to embed these into everyday practice
* promotes an understanding of approved curriculum frameworks
* seeks out professional development opportunities in collaboration with the leadership team
* assists educators to translate contemporary research and organisational priorities into practice
* leads reflective practice with a view to continuous improvement across all aspects of the early learning program
* Have in-depth knowledge of the EYLF and NQS and how to embed these into everyday practice
* Leading a team of educators with a focus on individual development and mentoring in education, care
* Continually reflect and implement strategies to improve the educational program in the service
* Working collaboratively with educators, children, and families to plan and implement an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documenting
* Supporting the team in documenting children's learning and development
* Mentor educators to support children to be active participants in their own learning through an integrated teaching and learning approach
* Be part of a collaborative teaching environment
* Maintain effective communication with the parents throughout the service
* Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs
* Create a friendly, secure, and stimulating interactive learning environment
* Maintain positive working relationships with all team members
* Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
Qualifications and Experience:
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
* Current Working with Children's Check
* Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Certificates
* Two years' experience working within an early childhood setting (recommended )
* Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework
* Understanding and knowledge of Child Safe Standards and Child Protection
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills ideally with experience writing learning stories and observations
* A cooperative team player who loves and respects children in all their individuality and developmental stages
* The ability to create meaningful relationships with our children, families, and fellow educators
* The ability to assist in providing high-quality educational experiences
* The enthusiasm to be proactive in implementing curriculum
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and communities
* Work as part of a team to ensure the care, supervision, and education of children is met
* Operate within the requirements of the services policies and procedures
