Under the City of Kwinana's structured remuneration system, this position is classified as a PACS Band 9 ($108,813 - $125,890 p.a – dependent on qualifications and experience).

What's On Offer?An exciting opportunity to lead and strengthen the City's procurement and contracts function.

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to provide specialist advice and coordination across all aspects of purchasing, procurement, tendering and contract management. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to plan and deliver formal procurement activities, improve systems and processes, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.

You'll oversee the City's formal procurement and tender processes, guide contract management practices, maintain registers and documentation and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will also lead a small team, coordinate procurement and contract management training, while contributing to strategic improvements that support organisational performance and accountability.

This is a key leadership role with real influence across the organisation and a genuine opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What You'll NeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Extensive experience in a contracts management, procurement or other complimentary commercial environment.
2. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of procurement principles and practices.
3. Extensive understanding, experience and accuracy in document preparation with well-developed numeracy and literacy skills.
4. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to provide a high level of stakeholder engagement.
5. Highly developed negotiation, consultation and dispute resolution/conflict management skills.
6. Ability to effectively supervise and coordinate staff in order to achieve organisational outcomes.
7. Effective organisational and time/work management skills with the ability to work independently, and implement corrective and proactive measurers as required.
8. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, identify problems, assess alternative solutions and develop recommendations.
9. The ability to use a high degree of judgement and initiative to take ownership of duties and assigned tasks to deliver desired outcomes.
10. Possession of a valid driver's licence.
11. A tertiary qualification in contracts and procurement, legal studies, law, accounting, commerce or business, or a commensurate level of work experience.
