Internal Audit Manager

Join an established ACT-based organisation to support the delivery of comprehensive internal audit and assurance programs within a complex and commercially orientated environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Internal Audit lead, you will play a pivotal role in managing the delivery of the internal audit program. You will be responsible for both hands-on audit delivery and coordination of external assurance providers, while providing high-quality reporting to senior leaders and governance committees.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the end-to-end execution of the internal audit program, including scheduling, coordination and contract management of external audit providers
* Leading internal compliance and performance audits (planning, fieldwork and reporting) in line with internal procedures and recognised audit standards
* Monitoring, tracking and reporting the implementation status of internal and external audit recommendations
* Contributing to the organisation's Quality Assurance and Improvement Program, including maintenance of the assurance framework and assurance map
* Preparing and reviewing audit reports and supporting presentations to executives and a Board-level Risk & Assurance Committee
* Leading the annual development of a broad, risk-based internal audit program
* Providing leadership, direction and mentoring to a small professional audit team
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across governance, risk and assurance activities
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong internal audit background and the ability to operate confidently in a regulated, commercially focused organisation.
The suitable candidate will have:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in auditing, accounting or a related discipline
* Professional membership such as CIA, CPA or CA/ICANZ
* Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating internal audit programs in a medium to large organisation or consulting/advisory environment
* Sound knowledge of governance, risk management and assurance principles
* Experience completing both performance and internal audits
* Proven experience leading a team and developing
