Electrical Maintenance Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team in the High Voltage (HV) department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining one of Queensland's largest privately owned HV Networks, ensuring constant power supply to operational teams and other off-takers while maintaining a high standard of safety.
The role involves routine maintenance of electrical equipment, breakdown works, installation/replacement of electrical equipment within switchyards and substations, problem diagnosis, and predictive maintenance jobs. Additionally, you will have a cooperative attitude, sound work ethic, effective time management skills, and the ability to complete tasks within specified time frames.
* Maintenance of high voltage equipment including testing and commissioning within 132kV/33kV/11kV/3.3kV reticulation systems.
* Maintenance of electrical infrastructure including battery charges, switchboards, power transformers, circuit breakers, and other indoor/outdoor HV switchyards switchgear.
* Assistance with switching operations within the HV network.
* Maintenance of the power distribution network to ensure safe and reliable operation.
* Repair of breakdowns within the HV network.
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* An electrical trade qualification and the ability to obtain a Queensland Electrical license.
* A current manual drivers' license.
* A sound understanding of workplace Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S).
* Experience in the HV and mining industry.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work well in a team environment.
* Protection relay testing experience.
* Switchboard maintenance, commissioning, and testing experience.
* Experience in testing and commissioning of large and small power transformers.
* HV cable jointing and termination experience is an advantage.
