Job Role: Community Safety Officer
City Rangers play a key role in promoting safety, amenity, and compliance across the municipality through education and enforcement. They respond to a range of community concerns including parking, animal management, abandoned vehicles, unsafe properties, and anti-social behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to public enquiries and complaints relating to parking, animals, safety, and By-Law matters in a timely and professional manner.
* Conduct foot or vehicle patrols and issue infringement notices to enforce relevant legislation.
* Support animal management programs and other compliance activities aligned with Council policies and strategies.
* Maintain accurate records and reporting to support investigations, enforcement, and service improvement.
* Liaise with other service agencies, and internal stakeholders to support community safety and provide assistance where needed.
* Undertake investigations and evidence collection, including statements, interviews, inspections, warrants, and seizures.
