We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our systems and networks, while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across all infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, configure, and maintain system architecture, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Manage and monitor system performance, implementing proactive maintenance and performance tuning.
* Perform regular system backups, recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with security and integrity controls.
* Administer and maintain operational documentation, policies, and procedures for systems and networks.
* Test and implement system upgrades, patches, and configurations, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
* Take ownership of system security, access controls, and disaster recovery planning.
* Liaise with vendors, service providers, and external partners to manage software and hardware solutions, ensuring performance and service-level compliance.
* Troubleshoot and provide technical support for server, network, and workstation-related issues.
* Maintain detailed system documentation, logs, and standard operating procedures.
* Assess current infrastructure and provide recommendations for improvements and future scalability.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar IT infrastructure role.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
* Experience managing network equipment, firewalls, and security tools.
* Familiarity with backup/recovery systems and disaster recovery planning.
* Understanding of database maintenance and data integrity as part of overall system administration.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Strong documentation, organisational, and communication abilities.
* Troubleshoot and maintain Retail Diagnostic Systems
