We’re seeking a highly capable property professional with an engineering background to take ownership of facilities and technical operations across a diverse national portfolio — spanning retail, residential, industrial, and mixed-use assets.

With significant developments underway, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring every asset is protected, efficient, and future-proofed, while also embedding the systems, governance and people capability to scale into the future.
The Company
Our client is a privately owned property group with a track record in delivering and managing high-profile retail, commercial, residential and industrial assets. With expansion projects already committed, the group is entering an exciting phase of growth — requiring a senior technical operations leader to protect, enhance and evolve the performance of its assets.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Directors, the Head of Facilities & Technical Operations will:
- Lead all aspects of facilities management and technical operations across the national portfolio.
- Take ownership of OPEX and CAPEX budgets, lifecycle planning and major works.
- Embed compliance, risk and sustainability frameworks across all asset classes.
- Partner closely with development teams to ensure operational readiness for new assets and expansions.
- Manage, mentor and grow a high-performing facilities team, supported by a strong network of contractors and service providers.
- Act as the technical advisor to the executive team, ensuring assets are future-proofed and aligned to long-term strategy.

This role may not suit you if…
- You’ve only worked on the agency/outsourced side of facilities management and haven’t held direct ownership responsibilities for an owner/developer.
- You prefer highly structured corporate environments with multiple reporting layers — this is a role where you’ll work directly with the owners and need to take full accountability.
About You
- Engineering qualifications (electrical, mechanical, building services or related discipline).
- 15+ years’ experience in technical operations and facilities management with major developers or asset owners.
- Proven success managing large, complex portfolios across retail, residential and industrial sectors.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience leading $10M+ OPEX/CAPEX budgets.
- Track record of building high-performing teams and driving contractor/vendor performance.
- Deep knowledge of compliance, safety, risk and sustainability frameworks.
