Water Technologyis a nationally recognised engineering and environmental consultancy specialising in water management, with offices in WA, SA, NT, VIC, NSW, QLD and NZ. Our Groundwater team have recognised expertise across areas such as groundwater modelling with uncertainty analysis, application of environmental tracer techniques, surface water-groundwater interactions and remote area resources assessment.
Who we're looking for
Our Groundwater team is looking for a Senior Groundwater Modeller who will work as part of our dynamic and highly collaborative modelling team to deliver industry leading groundwater models, analysis and reporting.
As a Senior Groundwater Modeller
You can expect to:
* Be involved in conceptual model review, and project and model design.
* Work as part of a team to contribute to the development of fit-for-purpose and defensible modelling approaches and methodologies to address client requirements.
* Explore innovative modelling approaches, designs and methodologies.
* Collaborate with your team to deliver high quality groundwater models and reports to clients.
* Liaise with your stakeholders and team for project pulse checks, review of model outcomes and project direction.
* Have input and support from our Principal Hydrogeologists and in turn help to guide junior staff where appropriate.
* Have opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects and activities across the Water Tech business, following your career goals and expanding your horizons.
* Keep up to date with current modelling methods and professional development (we will support you with this).
* Have opportunities to work with our experienced field team to collect the data and gather knowledge to support your modelling.
What will set you up for success in this role?
* An ability to characterise and conceptualise hydrogeological systems.
* Experience with a range of numerical and analytical groundwater modelling tools, including but not limited to various analytical solutions, MODFLOW6, the PEST suite of applications for model calibration and uncertainty analysis and Python-based workflows.
* Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Strength in computer-based data analysis (including GIS), management and manipulation of large data sets.
* Consistent production of high-quality written technical hydrogeological reports and oral presentations.
