APRA AMCOS is a member-owned music rights management organisation, positioned at the intersection of music, data and technology. We have more than 124,000 members who are songwriters, composers and music publishers. We license organisations to play, perform, copy or record our members' music, and we distribute the royalties to our members.
This Writer Services Representative role is a full-time opportunity for someone looking to join a dynamic, friendly, and passionate team at APRA AMCOS.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Writer Services, your primary role will be supporting APRA AMCOS' songwriter and composer members with royalty collection and assisting them with questions they may have about their general membership. The role is primarily customer service and administration based and involves daily liaison with APRA AMCOS members and internal staff.
This role is based in Ultimo office, which is on Gadigal land.
Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Provide professional, yet personalised membership support to current and prospective members.
2. Resolve member queries using current company procedures, internal resources, and the APRA AMCOS distribution rules and practices.
3. Professionally and successfully execute reports and prepare and communicate statistical information.
4. Provide accurate and timely administrative support services, correspondence and database management relating to writer members.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for increased representation.
6. Music industry engagement through attending APRA AMCOS membership and music industry functions as required.
7. Co-ordination, budgeting, participation, and evaluation as required for member events (virtually and face to face).
8. Public speaking and presentations to education institutions as required.
To thrive in this role, you will need:
1. As you will be the first point of contact for APRAs songwriter and composer members excellent customer service skills, verbally and written, are required to establish positive professional relationships with members and their teams.
2. Sound problem solving, time management, and organisation skills.
3. Experience in handling confidential and private information with care.
4. Strong attention to detail is required, with the ability to work well under pressure.
5. Self-sufficient in use of digital tools, such as Microsoft suite of applications (Outlook email, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams).
6. Interests or involvement in the broader music industry is preferred.
7. Demonstrated experience in working in an administrative office environment is preferred.
