This position is suitable for experienced cleaners and labourers aiming to enter the Council space and current Council workers seeking their next challenge.
As part of the team, you will have the chance to work on various council projects and contribute to your community. We are seeking reliable candidates who value teamwork, prioritise safety, and can adhere to council-specific guidelines.
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of cleaning tasks and maintenance duties, ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of public spaces. Your main responsibilities will include:
* General cleaning tasks: Performing various cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness in public areas.
* Street furniture cleaning: Ensuring that street furniture, such as benches and public fixtures, are clean and presentable.
* Cleaning and sanitising public amenities: Thoroughly cleaning and sanitising public amenities, such as restrooms, to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for the public.
* Litter collection of mall spaces: Collecting litter and maintaining cleanliness in mall areas, keeping them tidy and welcoming for visitors.
What You'll Need To Succeed:
* Physically fit
* Reliable car and drivers licence
* Able to work Monday to Friday with some possible weekend work
* Previous cleaning experience is highly desired
* Literacy and Numeracy to match record keeping responsibilities
* Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate initiative and self motivation
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a wide range of people ie customers, contractors and suppliers
* Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the corporate values
