Registered Midwife - Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) - Perm FT/PT
Join NSW Health as an MGP midwife who’ll be the primary care provider for low-risk women throughout pregnancy—from antenatal care to birth and postnatal care. This role offers a 29% on-call loading in addition to base wages, and you’ll work in a brand-new hospital with modern facilities, including an Antenatal Clinic and Birthing Unit opening by year end.
This is a collaborative, multidisciplinary role focused on woman-centred, evidence-based continuity of care. You’ll manage your own caseload, lead care planning, and mentor other clinicians, within a supportive team including CME, CMS2, CMCs, NUMs, and the Nurse Manager.
Location: Liverpool Hospital; Employment Type: Permanent Full Time or Part Time (up to 38 hours per week).
Remuneration: $36.38 - $51.08 per hour.

What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, woman- and newborn-centered continuity of care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards and NSW Health policies.
- Deliver advanced midwifery care across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal period; provide leadership, planning, and caseload coordination; mentor other clinicians.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure secure, personalised care and contribute to risk management and quality improvement initiatives.

- Liverpool Hospital: major health service for south-western Sydney with extensive services and ongoing redevelopment (LHAP).
- Hospital capacity includes 23 operating theatres, 877 beds, maternity, paediatric, emergency, trauma, and other services; affiliated with UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University.
- Located in Liverpool City with convenient access to public transport, shopping, and eateries.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
- Australian C-Class driver’s license (including P1 or P2). If license is from another state, NSW C class license must be obtained within three months of appointment.
- Minimum 12 months Midwifery post-registration experience; availability to participate in on-call roster across pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatal care as per Pilot Annualised Salary Agreement.
- Commitment to professional development, evidence-informed practice, and completion of required midwifery skills within 12 months of commencement.
- Competency in antenatal care, labour and birth, postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding per Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council standards.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and evidence-based practice, communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to risk management and quality improvement.
