As a WHS Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our health and safety management system.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining accurate records of incidents, inspections, hazard logs, and corrective actions
* Engaging with managers, supervisors, and employees through consultation mechanisms and coordinating committee functions
* Promoting a positive, proactive safety culture by providing practical guidance and support
* Contributing to the development and review of policies and procedures
* Assisting in creating and monitoring operational plans, ensuring progress against objectives and targets
* Supporting training programs, ensuring clear and effective guidance is provided
* Conducting or assisting with hazard identification, incident investigations, safety inspections, and risk assessments
To be successful in this role, you will require:
1. A Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related discipline
2. Relevant WHS certification (e.g., Grad Dip WHS, or equivalent)
3. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in WHS roles, with exposure to multi-site or national operations
4. Demonstrated experience in WHS management systems, risk management, incident investigation, and compliance with Australian WHS legislation
5. Proven ability to provide practical advice, lead safety initiatives, and influence workplace culture
6. Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practice
7. Ability to lead and support a
