Job Overview:

We are seeking an Accountant/Bookkeeper – Office Manager to join our passionate team. As a key player in the timber veneer industry, Veneer Panels values innovation, precision, and a commitment to excellence. With a current staff of 20, we are looking for an individual with unique skills to enhance our dynamic workplace. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to start immediately and seamlessly transition into the role with the guidance of an outgoing employee.

Responsibilities:

Understanding of / or willingness to learn our Odoo operating system.

- Maintain and Update Odoo Accounting Module
- Conduct daily banking activities and reconcile bank statements.
- Process monthly supplier invoices within trading terms.

Banking and Financial Reconciliation:

- Prepare quarterly BAS and monthly IAS statements.

Accounts Management:

- Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes.
- Monitor online tax accounts.

Payroll Processing:

- Process weekly payroll, including employee database maintenance.
- Lodge necessary documents with the ATO.

HR Support:

- Maintain employee records, HR correspondence, and contracts.
- Onboard new staff to the payroll system.

Asset and Insurance Management:

- Maintain fixed asset and vehicle registers.
- Manage annual insurance preparation and review.

Financial Reporting:

- Prepare financial reports and information.
- Liaise with external tax accountants as required.

General Office Management:

- Identify improvements to finance and admin processes.
- Handle general office management tasks.

Skills & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business / or Equivalent Bookkeeping experience
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Demonstrated integrity and transparency.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Work Hours:

We are open to considering candidates for 0.8 - full-time hours. Additionally, a hybrid in-office/work-from-home dynamic can be discussed to accommodate your preferences.
