Job Description
We are seeking passionate and experienced academics to join our teaching team as Sessional Lecturers in the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) and Master of Professional Information Technology (MPIT) programs. Session 2 2025 commences 14 July 2025. Teaching is conducted in person at our North Sydney campus, with classes scheduled between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. You will also contribute to research activities and student mentorship.
Teaching Areas Required
Bachelor level: Database systems, System Analysis and Design, Programming in Java, Cyber and information security, and ICT Project management
Master's level: Database systems, System Analysis and Design, Programming in Java, Cyber and Information Security, Digital Forensics, ICT Project management, and Artificial intelligence and Machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach at AQF 7 (Bachelor) or AQF 9 (Master's) levels, with guidance from course coordinators and academic staff.
* Deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops in person on campus.
* Engage with students via the learning management system (LMS) and consultations.
* Mark assessments and complete administrative tasks.
* Participate in professional development and scholarly activities. Reflect on teaching and apply student and peer feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* A Master's degree (for teaching at the Bachelor level) or a PhD (for teaching at the Master's level) in a relevant Information Technology discipline.
* Previous teaching experience, preferably at the university level.
* Proven ability to teach and assess students effectively.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Effective classroom management and problem-solving abilities.
* Commitment to promoting diversity and equity in education.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
