We're seeking NV1-cleared Systems Engineering professionals to join our permanent Canberra-based team
Downer Professional Services is proud to be Defence's strategic workforce partner within Joint Systems Division, following a competitive tender process. As part of this win, Team Downer MSP now support two critical system program offices within the JC4S Branch:
* Integrated Command, Control and Communications Systems Program Office (IC3 SPO)
* Integrated Warfighting Networks Systems Program Office (IWN SPO)
These SPOs deliver secure, integrated communications and enable seamless coordination across the Australian Defence Force. This is a proud milestone for our team as we continue to drive mission-critical capability forward.
We are seeking permanent Systems Engineers based in Canberra to support this Integrated Work Package.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including but not limited to:
* Deliver end-to-end systems engineering services including requirements analysis, integration, verification and validation (V&V), test and evaluation, and technical performance measurement.
* Develop and maintain security engineering documentation such as System Overview Documents, Security Risk Management Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with Defence standards.
* Stakeholder engagement activities with the project to gather requirements and maintain relationships
* Contribute to engineering governance by preparing documentation and reviewing contract deliverables for compliance and quality.
* Working with multidisciplinary teams to develop, design and deliver requirements
What You'll Bring
* Defence industry experience in System Engineering
* Experience with Validation and Verification (V&V), Test and Evaluation (T&E), System Design, Safety Engineering and/or systems concepts and specifications
* Strong engineering experience in a hands-on role as well as ability to consult and lead projects
* Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and stakeholder management
* Qualified/certified Engineer or holding an equivalent engineering qualification
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
