As the P&C Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the People & Culture team to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. In this 12-month maternity leave cover position, the Coordinator will help create a positive and engaging experience for our people from their very first day, setting them up for long-term success.
You will be working across the entire employee lifecycle, delivering services and solutions that reflect our Canstar Values. You will assist in helping to foster a culture where our people feel supported and empowered to do their best work.
Key Responsibilities
P&C Support
* Assist with the day-to-day HR administration, including maintaining employee records, updating HR systems, and processing employee lifecycle changes (onboarding, offboarding, promotions, etc.).
* Maintain and manage tasks within our HRIS – Employment Hero – including employee data, records, and compliance tracking. Ensure people updates are carried out in a timely manner.
* Generate reports and provide insights from Employment Hero for HR metrics, compliance, and management reporting.
* Support employee engagement initiatives and P&C programs as needed.
* Help facilitate P&C events such as training sessions, wellness initiatives, and team-building activities.
* Conduct desktop research to support relevant P&C tasks and projects (e.g. diversity and inclusion, benefits, etc)
* Support the HR team on time-specific projects (e.g. Great Place to Work submission, office-related projects, etc)
* Regularly monitor the User Directory on LumApps to ensure it is up to date and syncing appropriately with the Canstar Google directory
Recruitment
* Coordinate recruitment processes, including drafting and posting job ads, scheduling interviews, and managing the candidate communication process.
* Assist hiring managers with screening candidates and conducting pre-employment checks.
* Prepare employment contracts and offer letters.
* Ensure a positive candidate experience by managing timely communication and onboarding processes.
* Be the Canstar contact for all unpaid student internships and placements
General office support
* Coordinate Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) compliance, ensuring policies are up to date and that the office environment meets safety standards. Facilitate regular safety checks and audits.
* Manage and update the Fire Warden and First Aider teams, ensuring all training is current and compliant with regulations.
* Oversee the corporate travel program, including booking travel arrangements for employees, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring travel policies are followed.
* Maintain office supplies and equipment, coordinating with vendors and ensuring that office needs are met efficiently.
Cultural initiatives and P&C programs
* Support the P&C team with planning, coordinating and facilitating a range of internal cultural events
* Collaborate with Marketing on initiatives for staff that require design input (such as production of merchandise for staff events)
* Liaise with other teams including Technology, Admin and Marketing to ensure events are appropriately set up and promoted
* Support the P&C team in keeping digital assets (such as the careers webpage and LinkedIn Life page) up to date with refreshed imagery and content by working with marketing to organise photoshoots with employees on at least an annual basis
* Support the P&C team with creating LinkedIn posts and graphics
Required Skills & Experience
* Relevant tertiary degree in HR or associated discipline (or equivalent experience)
* Previous experience in a HR or P&C Coordinator role (desirable), with a good understanding of HR functions and best practices.
* Proficient in using HR information systems (previous experience in Employment Hero would be ideal)
* WHS certification, knowledge or interest to learn is desirable.
* A passion for people and creating a positive workplace culture.
* Excellent organisational skills, ability to timely execute tasks, prioritise and multitask
