ChoiceOne is currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for an opportunity with a well-established engineering workshop specialising in earthmoving, hydraulic and heavy machinery equipment. Based in Welshpool, this role offers the chance to further develop your skills while working within a highly capable and professional workshop environment. Operating from a well-equipped factory facility in Welshpool, the business utilises a wide range of state-of-the-art engineering and fabrication resources to deliver high-quality mechanical services to customers across mining, construction and heavy industry.
The Opportunity
Working as part of a skilled workshop team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of mining and earthmoving equipment. This role offers excellent exposure to a variety of heavy machinery and the opportunity to further develop your diagnostic and mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance, repair and overhaul of mining and earthmoving equipment
* Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical systems
* Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
* Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety standards
* Working both independently and collaboratively within the workshop team
* Meeting customer requirements and project deadlines
Skills & Experience
* Mechanical Trade Qualification (Mechanical Fitter or similar)
* Previous experience in a similar workshop or maintenance role
* Heavy vehicle or earthmoving equipment experience (highly desirable)
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to safety and environmental practices
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
