Full time: $74,000 – $77,000 per yearResponsibilities Include: Prepare and bake a variety of artisan sourdough bread and pastries according to established recipes and standards. Manage dough fermentation and shaping processes to achieve desired flavor, texture, and appearance. Liaise with kitchen staff and satellite shop to ensure timely delivery and quality control. Train apprentices in sourdough baking techniques, including shaping, proofing, and baking. Keep recipes current and accurate, updating as needed to reflect changes in ingredients or processes. Monitor ingredient costs and assist with recipe costing to maintain profitability while ensuring high-quality standards. Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a sourdough baker, with expertise in both bread and pastry production. AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV OR at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications Strong knowledge of sourdough fermentation principles and techniques.
