Job Description
BESIX Watpac seeks a Workplace Health Safety Environment (WHSE) Coordinator to join our NSW Construction team for a major hospital project in Shellharbour. Responsibilities include:
* Undertaking WHSE duties as directed by the WHSE Advisor and Site Manager, in line with BESIX Watpac HSE Management Systems.
* Promoting safety, environmental, and quality policies, practices, and procedures to ensure a safe workplace in compliance with management plans and legislative requirements.
* Assisting in developing and implementing the Project Safety Management Plan.
* Reviewing Safe Work Method Statements from subcontractors before work begins.
* Disseminating health, safety, and environmental information to relevant personnel.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualifications in OHS, Safety, Environment, or related fields.
* Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills across all levels.
* Ability to work independently with initiative, sound judgment, and decision-making skills.
* Effective teamwork skills.
* Professionalism, maturity, confidentiality, and integrity.
* Experience delivering safety training such as inductions and incident management.
* Occupational First Aid certification is desirable.
* Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
