Our laboratory and workload is increasing to such that we are looking to employ a senior respiratory scientist to oversee the training of junior laboratory staff, and manage our laboratory processes to ensure that as we grow, we continue to offer high quality investigations.This role would suit an experienced respiratory scientist who is looking for flexibility, who is happy to do some complex respiratory testing but is also interesting in teaching other more junior staff.

Responsibilities Oversee complex respiratory function testing and sleep testing in the outpatient settingComputer skills including word processing, spread sheet application and clinical information systemsStaff training and quality control of respiratory function testingMaintain quality assurance practices including calibrationMaintenance of equipment as per the respiratory and sleep services accreditation standards.Ensuring efficient respiratory laboratory processesPerformance of respiratory function testing, where rostering of junior staff is not availableLiaise closely with the Practice Manager and the Medical Directors of the clinic to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.Build and maintain professional relationships with patients, respiratory specialists, and external clinicians Requirements Completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree in science with a strong component in human physiologyPrior experience as a respiratory scientist in a respiratory function laboratory is essentialA professional appearance with excellent oral and written communication skillsAttention to detail and time management skillsAbility to work independentlyProfessional, friendly disposition, with an ability to remain calmHigh standard of work ethic - self motivated, trustworthy, punctual, and takes pride in workCurrent certification in CPR Salary and Benefits Leadership position, with an opportunity to mould the respiratory function laboratory to your own best practiceFlexible work hours can negotiated, would suit a senior respiratory scientist looking for more flexibility with work hoursClose to public transport with off street parking availablePositive patient cohort, staff and work environmentSalary will be commensurate with experience, expected for a senior respiratory scientist in a private setting How to Apply Please contact our practice manager, Tracey O'Brien on for more information.
