Wodonga Senior Secondary College is a government year 10 to 12 co‑education school in the local government area of Wodonga. The College is located 1 km from central Wodonga on 7.84 hectares surrounded by residential housing.

Wodonga is one of the fastest growing regional cities in Victoria with a population of 39,351. It is located 3 hours and 20 minutes from Melbourne on the Hume Highway. Families can access social services, health, employment, art and culture. Families also commute to Albury (7.8 km) for work and leisure. Employment opportunities for parents and carers of students centre on manufacturing, health care, social assistance, public administration, safety and retail.


History and Enrolment Trends

Wodonga Senior Secondary College was established in 2005‑2006 through the regeneration of government secondary education in Wodonga. Three existing secondary schools in the city were merged to form a senior secondary college (years 10‑12) and a middle years college (years 7‑9). Today, Wodonga Senior Secondary College and Wodonga Middle Years College collaborate to provide all students with opportunities for success from years 7 to career.


Student and Community Demographics

The College currently has 1 172 students. Enrolment has increased over the last five years. The majority of students transition from year 9 at the middle years college into year 10 at the senior college. About 24 % of students are drawn from neighbouring communities, including New South Wales, independent schools and Catholic colleges. The College serves a socially, economically and culturally diverse community. For 3.1 % of students English is their additional language and 15.9 % of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.


Staffing and Leadership Profiles

The College benefits from highly professional teaching and support staff. The majority (80 %) of teaching staff are highly experienced teachers, complemented by new teachers each year. The Executive Team comprises five principals focusing on high‑quality education for all students and continuous improvement, supported by 17 leading teachers. An additional five principals support the flexible learning centres. The School employs 56 education support staff, including laboratory technicians, librarians, administrative staff, maintenance and grounds staff, IT assistants and trainees. The College supports student wellbeing with house leaders, assistants, a wellbeing team of social workers, a Doctors in School programme, Koorie support mentor, inclusion support and a Defence transition mentor.


Curriculum and Specialisation

Wodonga Senior Secondary College offers the broadest range of subject choices in the region across all subject areas. The College works with all students to design individual learning pathways that provide opportunities for success after secondary education. In partnership with external registered trained organisations, the College delivers a diverse range of VET subjects. Students participate in global education programs, study Japanese or Indonesian face‑to‑face and attend international study tours to Cambodia, Japan and Vietnam. Extra‑curricular activities include swimming, athletics, instrument music, college musical productions and celebrity events.


Selection Criteria

* Appropriate qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
* Demonstrated ability to empathise and work with young people.
* High level of oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and community stakeholders.
* Demonstrated skills in advocacy, negotiations, problem‑solving and conflict resolution.
* Demonstrated ability to organise own work, set priorities, meet deadlines, work independently and as a team member, and maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to plan, organise, evaluate and deliver innovative and creative programmes, resources and activities for families, students and the college community.


Role

The position involves management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. It requires staff management, business management, reporting to senior management and compliance with standard procedures and school policy. The role requires a minimum of four years of qualification and professional experience. The responsibilities include coordinating educational programmes, supporting student learning, liaising with teachers and staff, and preparing reports for senior management.

* Deliver engaging, practical sessions in beauty and customer service.
* Provide hands‑on instruction across foundation beauty treatments and techniques.
* Create an inclusive, predictable, and supportive learning environment.
* Adapt sessions to suit diverse learning styles and individual student needs.
* Model professionalism, hygiene, safety, and effective communication.
* Support learners in understanding industry expectations and realistic vocational pathways.
* Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and review learning progress.
* Encourage improved attendance, participation, and engagement.
