Our organization is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Leisure Activities Coordinator. This position entails designing and delivering engaging leisure and recreational programs for individuals with disabilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients to develop programs that cater to their abilities, preferences, and goals.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Designing and implementing recreation and leisure-based activity programs
* Organizing and conducting outdoor and indoor activities, including sports, games, arts and crafts, drama, and music
* Adapting programs to suit individual clients' needs, interests, skills, and abilities
* Evaluating and assessing clients' levels of abilities, interests, needs, strengths, and weaknesses
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals to plan or provide treatment
* Providing emotional support, comfort, or encouragement to individuals, groups, or families
* Documenting and reporting on an individual's outcomes after they have participated in leisure activities
In order to be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
* A Certificate IV in a relevant field or equivalent qualification
* At least one year of post-training professional experience in this field
* Proven knowledge of diversional therapy principles and practices
* A current National Police Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, and driver's license
* Membership of appropriate professional bodies or eligibility to apply
* Experience working with diverse client groups
