Transport Coordinator Job Description
We are seeking an organized and safety-focused Transport Coordinator to support our daily transport operations.
1. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising outbound and inbound transport activities to ensure deliveries are safe, efficient, and compliant.
About the Role:
This role is key to keeping our fleet running smoothly and our customers well supported. The Transport Coordinator will manage load planning, scheduling, customer communication, and compliance across fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and load restraint standards.
1. Create, review, and allocate daily loads to support safe and efficient delivery
2. Consolidate freight to maximize utilization while meeting service expectations
3. Prepare and maintain daily transport schedules, adjusting as needed throughout the day
4. Work closely with warehouse, production, and drivers to ensure seamless operations
5. Ensure compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and load restraint requirements
6. Support Chain of Responsibility (CoR) audits, incident reporting, and corrective actions
7. Monitor driver hours and rest breaks, maintaining accurate records
8. Act as a primary contact for delivery queries, updates, and service recovery
9. Maintain transport documentation, manifests, and daily logs
10. Promote a safe, compliant, and positive team culture
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in transport coordination, logistics, or dispatch (manufacturing or FMCG highly regarded)
Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), fatigue management, and load restraint standards
Excellent communication and customer service capability
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Proficiency with transport management systems and Microsoft Office
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
