Job Opportunity
This position involves overseeing a portion of business development and operations management for the southeast region, primarily focusing on warehouse industrial projects. The incumbent will develop new client relationships, support estimating, oversee preconstruction and construction services, and monitor subcontractor relationships to achieve growth objectives and ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, data submission, and proposal support within approved budget constraints.
* Collaborate with the Estimating and Operations teams to develop comprehensive proposal and budgeting strategies.
* Oversee preconstruction activities, including design, estimating, and project management personnel, ensuring seamless project execution.
* Lead the development of major proposals and presentations to secure new business and train project personnel in effective client presentation skills.
* Communicate effectively with Design Consultants, General Managers, Director of Operations, and the VP/Manager of Estimating to optimize management team efficiency.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports through regular one-on-one discussions and quarterly check-ins.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 15 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in the local industrial warehouse sector.
* Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or a relevant field is required.
* Strong acumen and experience in developing new clients, closing deals, and growing business with existing clients are essential.
* Proven experience managing preconstruction services and leveraging subcontractor relationships to meet and exceed client needs.
* Excellent financial skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial statements.
* Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills and the ability to facilitate meetings at all organizational levels.
* Ability to build strong relationships and establish strong interpersonal connections at all levels of the organization.
* Strong coaching and mentoring skills, along with a desire to develop and challenge direct reports to improve their performance and develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
* Analytical orientation toward key market trends and changes, with the ability to take appropriate action to ensure continued leadership and competitive advantage.
* Enthusiasm and a performance-driven approach to translating the employer brand passion vision/mission into operational, quantitative plans, goals, and schedules for improvement.
