We are seeking an experienced
Senior Underground Mining Engineer
with strong
mine planning expertise
to join a high-performing underground operation in
regional Victoria
. This is a key technical role offering the opportunity to influence mine plans, optimise production outcomes, and support safe, efficient underground mining operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Mining Engineering Superintendent, you will be responsible for delivering short-, medium-, and long-term underground mine plans while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers. You will work closely with operations, geology, and technical services to ensure plans are practical, achievable, and aligned with business objectives.

5/2 - 4/3 roster

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain
short-, medium-, and long-term underground mine plans
* Prepare production schedules, budgets, and forecasts
* Complete stope and development designs, sequencing, and optimisation
* Conduct trade-off studies and scenario analysis
* Provide technical and planning support to underground operations
* Monitor and reconcile mine performance against plan
* Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and company standards
* Mentor and support junior mining engineers
About You
* Tertiary qualification in
Mining Engineering
* Significant experience in
underground mining engineering
, ideally in a senior planning role
* Strong planning background across underground mining methods (e.g. sublevel stoping, caving or similar)
* Proficiency in mine planning software such as
Deswik
, Vulcan or similar
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with site-based operational teams
* Previous Australian underground experience highly regarded
