Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer – (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

The position is based in NSW, Australia. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Trade and has 2+ years of experience with energy storage systems, renewable energy, power systems design and communication networks.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician / Field Service Engineer in Battery Energy Storage Systems, you will be involved in a dynamic mix of technical and customer-focused tasks. You will perform field service activities, support project teams during commissioning, address technical issues, propose improvements, maintain customer relationships, and prepare analytical reports.
* Perform field service activities as per long-term service agreements.
* Conduct BESS planned and unplanned maintenance.
* Support project teams during commissioning of battery energy storage systems.
* Address and report warranty and technical issues and propose product improvements.
* Maintain customer relationships through effective communication.
* Prepare and present service reports with recommendations.
* Act as a technical advisor to customer meetings.
* Write service work reports and maintain documentation.
Requirements for the position
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Electrical Trade.
* Valid A Grade NSW Electrical license.
* Preferably 2 to 4 years of experience in battery energy storage systems, renewable energy, power systems design and communication networks.
* Knowledge of LV and MV systems, EMS, battery modules, inverter technology, online platform communication systems, industrial networks and protocols, PLC and control systems, PV systems, protection relays, variable frequency drives, HVAC, fire alarm and suppression systems, advanced firewall and router programming, AS/NZS 3000:2018 electrical installations.
* Experience in HV Switching Operations.
* Experience in BESS or Renewable Energy installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning.
* Detail-oriented, project management mindset, good collaboration skills, proficiency in MS Office, excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Valid driver's license.
* Willingness to travel at least 70% of the time.
* Must be authorized to work in Australia without sponsorship.
* Relocation not applicable for internal employees.
