Primary objective
Effectively promote the activities of the department and deliver in-market initiatives to attract workers, international students,
trade and investment.
Context statement
As part of the market engagement team, the role operates and contributes to key marketing projects using modern communications
channels to attract people to live, work, study, trade and invest in the Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver marketing research, using sound investigation tools to gather and analyse information from diverse sources, with
consideration of public and political implications.
2. Develop, plan and implement local, interstate and international engagement activities to promote the Northern Territory as a
study, live and work destination for international students and businesses.
3. Develop content for DTBAR media channels and social platforms.
4. Design and/or engage creative agencies and consultants to deliver existing and new marketing projects.
5. Provide effective project management for identified projects and initiatives, including development, implementation, monitoring
and evaluation and support DTBAR events.
6. Develop and maintain professional relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to build and
nurture partnerships and achieve organisational objectives.
7. Manage information and the timely production of high quality internal and external project proposals, reports, briefs and
communications.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven experience working in digital communications environment and progressing range of marketing and promotional
collateral.
2. Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating local, national and international communications and marketing
strategies and campaigns, to raise brand profile and awareness.
3. Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail, and an ability to engage and
communicate effectively across a range of mediums and a diverse range of stakeholders.
4. Strong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to manage concurrent projects with competing priorities.
5. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
6. Demonstrated ability to work positively, proactively and collaboratively as part of a small team.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, Premier, Audition, After
Effects, Bridge, and Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop.
2. Relevant tertiary qualifications or sound experience in a similar position.
