The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Sales Specialist who knows how to convert momentum into results. In this role, you’ll take ownership of inbound opportunities across GLT’s full product range — ensuring disciplined follow-up and smooth progression from quote to close whilst building strong customer relationships.
Working closely with Technical Sales and internal stakeholders, you’ll maintain sales momentum, build strong customer relationships, and deliver a consistently high-quality experience.
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys the sales process and thrives on structure and systems thinking. You naturally source solutions, avoid one-dimensional thinking, and focus on building long-term relationships. You’re comfortable building processes while running them, and are proud of the outcomes and customer experiences you create.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and convert a defined portfolio of inbound sales opportunities into confirmed orders across GLT’s full product range.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships through face-to-face visits, phone, events, and digital engagement, supporting ongoing sales, service, and repairs.
* Act as the primary contact for inbound enquiries, providing informed advice across all products by understanding customer operations and commercial needs.
* Progress opportunities efficiently through all sales stages, maintaining momentum, priorities, and clear next steps.
* Prepare, review, and finalise quotes using GLT’s digital quoting tools, ensuring accuracy and margin discipline.
* Collaborate with Technical Sales and internal teams to provide accurate specifications, resolve queries, and minimise delays for customers.
* Drive disciplined sales process adherence through follow-up and closing activity to maximise quote-to-order conversion and customer experience and retention.
* Identify and action upsell and cross-sell opportunities, including repairs, spares, and rentals.
* Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity stages, and pipeline reporting.
* Work with production, engineering, finance, marketing, and delivery teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and a seamless customer experience.
* Provide feedback to Sales & Marketing on lead quality, objections, pricing sensitivity, and competitor activity.
* Conduct pre-delivery specification checks and participate in in-market customer activity to support relationships and sales outcomes.
* Represent GLT at customer sites and industry events, strengthening relationships and supporting sales.
* Commit to ongoing professional and industry development to provide customers with relevant, accurate, and insightful knowledge.
What We’re Looking For
* Driven and self-motivated individual with a strong focus on results.
* Passionate about connecting solutions for customers that grow their business and GLT
* Resilience and adaptability, thriving in a dynamic, result-driven environment.
* Collaborative team player, able to work effectively across departments and with customers at all levels.
* Aligned with GLT’s values, bringing professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first mindset.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Minimum 3 years’ B2B sales experience, preferably with engineered or technical products.
* Prior experience in trailers, heavy equipment, transport, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors is highly desirable.
* Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales, Engineering, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
* Proven ability to progress and close a high volume of opportunities efficiently.
* Strong commercial acumen, including margin management and solution-based selling.
* Confident in selling process and closing behaviours, guiding customers to timely decisions and managing objections effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work autonomously, self-lead, and manage time effectively.
* Commitment to exceptional customer service across all channels and interactions — written, phone, and face-to-face.
* Team-oriented, willing to assist and support colleagues as needed.
* Strong personal presentation, including professional attire, grooming, and a down-to-earth, approachable style.
* Proficiency in CRM systems, quoting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite to manage sales process, client information, track activities, and produce reports.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to work in an office based open plan environment
* Ability to travel by road or air for customer visits and industry events as required
* Comfortable working within a manufacturing environment across all seasons, including Queensland summer and winter conditions.
