Overview:
Are you a Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a passion for delivering high quality patient care? Darwin Private Hospital is looking to employ Registered Nurses for their Perioperative Unit. Applicants with scrub/scout or anaesthetics experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Deliver evidence based nursing care
Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
Ensure patient and staff safety
Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
About the Hospital
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology, ENT and a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Darwin Private also has an 18 bed Mental Health & AOD unit, The Darwin Clinic, which also incorporates a dedicated Day Rehabilitation Program. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.
Selection Criteria / Qualifications
Current Registration with AHPRA
Experience in Orthopaedics (preferred)
Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
NT Working with Children check
Commitment to Quality Patient Care
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Works well independently and within a team
Salary note:
The salary is based on years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and the Darwin Private Hospital - Nurses and Midwives - Enterprise Agreement - ($37.79 - $50.97 per hour).
