Job Title: Maintenance Officer
About the Role:
Glenview Community Services is a leading Tasmanian aged care provider based in Hobart's northern suburbs. We are part of our community and provide a diverse suite of services, from tailored home care to our state-of-the-art purpose-built dementia care village.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to use your skills and experience to contribute meaningfully to the lives of older people in our community.
The role will be permanent full-time with a 5-day working week and a rotating on-call roster, based in our Windsor Street facility.
About You:
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Professional who is passionate about property upkeep and delivering excellent service to our residents, families and staff.
You will bring experience in general building maintenance, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail and understanding of workplace health and safety.
Trade qualifications or certifications would be highly regarded but not essential.
You must be able to safely operate tools and equipment, as well as have the physical capacity for tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying.
You will also need to communicate effectively and respectfully with a broad range of people including those living with dementia.
Maintaining a positive attitude, great communication skills, and a genuine commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our community are essential qualities for this role.
* Undertake routine maintenance tasks within the independent living units and our two residential care facilities.
* Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures, equipment, and facilities as directed.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address any issues that arise.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and costs.
* Collaborate with the broader care team to ensure a safe and well-functioning environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
Essential criteria for this role include:
* Satisfactory National Police Check valid within 12 months.
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration with NDIS Endorsement.
* Eligibility to work in Australia.
