Established in 1914, the College has a strong tradition of providing a supportive and enriching living and learning community for women, offering places for 250 residents and 50 associates (non-residents) who undertake tertiary studies at Brisbane universities each year.

About the Role
As Sous Chef, you’ll work alongside the Executive Chef to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for a large catering operation that supports a thriving residential college community. You’ll take charge of daily kitchen operations, contribute to menu planning, maintain food safety excellence, and help lead a small, dynamic team.
This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and wants to make a real difference in the lives of our students and guests.
What You’ll Be Doing
•Alongside the Executive Chef, leading kitchen operations and maintaining five-star food safety and hygiene standards
•Assisting with menu planning, cost control, procurement and rostering
•Preparing and presenting meals to a consistently high standard
•Supporting, supervising and training kitchen staff
•Monitoring stock, reducing waste and managing cleaning schedules
•Acting as shift supervisor and decision-maker in the absence of the Executive Chef
What You’ll Bring
•Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience
•Minimum 2 years’ experience as Sous Chef or 3 years as Chef de Partie
•Proven experience in large-scale catering
•Strong staff management and communication skills
•Solid knowledge of HACCP, WHS and food safety legislation
•First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
•A current or eligible Blue Card
