We are seeking a junior legal assistant to join our national float team working on varied and interesting work across our practice groups.
About the team
This is an onsite position based in our contemporary Melbourne office. As part of the national float team, you will provide administrative support to partners, lawyers and professional staff, both in person and remotely across all of our practice groups nationally. You will also provide front of house reception support in the Melbourne office on a regular basis.
As a float legal assistant, you will undertake varied and interesting work within our diverse practice groups – Corporate & Commercial, Dispute Resolution & Litigation, Property Planning & Development, Construction Infrastructure & Projects and Workplace Relations & Safety. On a day-to-day basis you can expect your duties to include:
* File maintenance - electronic and paper (Work10)
* Preparation of correspondence and legal documents
* Diary management
* Editing and formatting documents
* Opening and closing client files
* Client contact
* Photocopying
* Archiving
* Coverage of Legal Assistants’ planned and unplanned leave
* Front of house reception support throughout the day
About you
You will have prior experience in administration, reception or office support, ideally from a legal or professional services background but this is not essential. You will have a genuine interest in developing your career in legal administration support with a can-do attitude and commitment to achieving client/ firm outcomes.
You will also possess the following attributes/ skills:
* Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to foster positive working relationships
* A keen eye for detail
* Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities
* Active team member, completing tasks and assisting others to complete tasks
* A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for desired outcomes
* Strong sense of initiative and problem solving
* Sound judgement, uses discretion and deals with sensitive information appropriately
Given the nature of the role this will suit those who enjoy variety, as well as developing new skills and building strong relationships at varied levels.
