Communications Technicians with no mining experience are encouraged to apply.
The Position
Byrnecut is seeking experienced Underground Mine Communication Technicians to join our Western Australian operations. Licensed electrical workers with strong communications experience are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
* Install underground leaky feeder communication reticulation systems
* Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on underground communication systems
* Install and terminate fibre optic cabling and infrastructure within the underground mine
* Install structured cabling systems in surface Mining Services Areas
* Perform scheduled maintenance, statutory testing, and inspections
Requirements
* Underground mining experience with exposure to UHF/VHF communication systems (preferred but not essential)
* ACMA Open Cabling Registration
* Optical Fibre Cabling Endorsement (preferred but not essential)
* Structured Cabling Endorsement (preferred but not essential)
* Experience with two-way radio leaky feeder systems
* High-standard communications equipment installation skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
* Strong self-motivation and time management
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Ability to meet pre-employment requirements, including full medical and drug & alcohol screening
