Keegan Adams has been engaged to source a Head of Risk for a wealth advisory firm operating in Victoria & NSW. This role will involve strategic advice around growth, team management and day to day governance.
Duties
* Build upon the current risk structure and controls within the business to meet risk expansion as the business grows.
* Provide strategic advice to the executive team and Board on risk, compliance, and governance matters.
* Oversee risk monitoring, assessment, and reporting across all business units.
* Engage with regulators (APRA, ASIC) and ensure timely and accurate reporting. AFSL exposure is advantageous.
* Partner with business leaders to integrate risk management into decision-making and strategy.
* Lead and mentor a team while building risk capability across the organisation.
* Drive best-practice risk management in alignment with regulatory expectations and member-first principles.
Ideal Candidate
* Extensive senior risk management experience within the wealth advisory/investment space.
* Strong knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, ASIC & AFSL requirements, and relevant governance frameworks.
* The ability to engage effectively with Boards, executives, and regulators with credibility and influence.
* A proven track record in maintaining, developing and leading high-performing teams.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, law, risk management, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications and professional memberships highly regarded).
