Engage Abilities is a registered service provider of the Casework Support Scheme (CSS), through the Department of Communities and Justice. Engage Abilities is also a registered NDIS and Supported Independent Living (SIL) and we are currently recruiting Child Protection Youth Workers on a casual basis to work in the Western Sydney and South Western Sydney areas.
- As a Youth Worker, you support children and young people who may have significant challenges, complex trauma, and are involved in the Child Protection and/or Out of Home Care (OOHC) system.
- The shifts consist of supervising contact visits, in home supports, respite, transports and mentoring supports working with children and their families.
- Your priority is to keep young people safe, ensure their needs are met and aid them in their development and implement goal focused supports to ensure that the support you are providing is in line with the goals for the young person or the family.
- The successful applicants will be required to work in accordance with our code of conduct, relevant procedures, and our policies, including the Child Safe Standards.
We are looking for committed and passionate individuals who:
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside computing skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of paid experience working with youth/children (youth worker, teacher, childcare educator, disability support worker, etc.) or have a relevant tertiary qualification (social work degree/teaching degree etc.)
- Have an above average proficiency in the English language.
- Has the ability to build strong and trusting rapport with adults, children and young people.
- Must have own car.
- Able to proactively assess risks and solve problems.
- Has excellent professional boundaries.
- Be a positive role model.
- Is resilient and flexible in your approach.
- Has the ability to work in high stress situations.
- Has the ability to work within a team environment and independently.
- A driver's license with full comprehensive car insurance is required.
- Have previous work experience but willing to learn more.
- Have a First Aid certificate, WWC, Police check or be willing to obtain.
