What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the position is to provide safe, effective and quality care to patients in a complex clinical environment. Medical Officers will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages presenting in any condition and will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

Selection Criteria:
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
* Recent demonstrated surgical experience at commencement of post would be an advantage
* Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
* Demonstrated effective teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
* Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education and teaching undergraduate and post-graduates.
* Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment
* At least four years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
