About the role
The Rostering Lead plays a key role in driving efficient workforce planning across our cleaning and facilities operations, providing strategic leadership and oversight of rostering systems across multiple sites. This position ensures the right people are in the right place at the right time, delivering reliable, responsive rostering services that support day-to-day operations.
Working closely with internal teams and external contractors, the Rostering Lead ensures workforce compliance, service continuity, and consistent delivery against contractual requirements and Service Level Agreements. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, the role supports system integrity, operational performance, and the ongoing optimisation of workforce coordination.

About you -
* You are an experienced workforce planning or rostering professional with a proven ability to lead in large, complex environments. You bring strong analytical capability, exceptional attention to detail, and a clear commitment to maintaining high-quality, reliable data across workforce management systems.
* You are a confident communicator with well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, able to build trusted, productive relationships that drive strong operational outcomes. As a leader, you cultivate a collaborative and resilient team culture, champion continuous improvement, and deliver customer-focused services that make a real impact.
Key knowledge and experience
* Demonstrated experience leading workforce planning or rostering functions within a large or complex organisation.
* Proven ability to oversee rostering systems, processes and data quality to support operational and contractual requirements.
* Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and contractors to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery outcomes.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role
* Demonstrated experience in workforce planning or rostering in a large organisation.
* Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
* Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the value of public education.
