Lead Salesforce User Experience (UX) - EL1 Equivalent
Location: Surry Hills, Sydney (Hybrid)
Contract: 3 months + 3-month extension
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Salesforce UX professional to join a Federal Government agency. This role operates under broad direction and is accountable for delivering complex, user-centred design outcomes on Salesforce-supported platforms. You will provide leadership, advice, and design oversight to ensure digital products are intuitive, inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the agency's strategic intent.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead user-centred design activities including research, co-design, prototyping, and usability testing.
* Translate user requirements into clear design artefacts, workflows, user stories, and prototypes for multidisciplinary teams.
* Provide expert advice on UX patterns, interaction design, and interface workflows within Salesforce-supported environments, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
* Facilitate co-design workshops and usability testing with participants, providers, and staff.
* Guide teams in selecting and applying UX patterns within CRM and Salesforce constraints.
* Support uplift of UX capability through coaching and promoting best practice in user-centred design.
* Maintain accurate documentation of design decisions and processes for governance, reuse, and continuous improvement.
* Represent user needs in forums influencing delivery risks, solution direction, or strategic decision-making.
Essential Criteria
* Demonstrated experience leading UX design activities in complex digital environments.
* Strong ability to translate user requirements into design artefacts, ensuring alignment with accessibility and inclusive design standards.
* Proven capability to influence senior stakeholders and support design-related decision-making.
* Experience designing for Salesforce-supported environments, including Experience Cloud (Communities).
* Experience working in agile or iterative delivery environments, and contributing to uplift in UX practice.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud (Communities) or legacy Insurance/Vlocity components.
* Familiarity with design systems and component-based UI governance in enterprise contexts.
* Understanding of CRM-supported UX patterns and platform-specific usability considerations.
* Commitment to accessibility-first design and continuous improvement of inclusive design practices.
