About Us

The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
We are seeking a dedicated Enrolled Nurse who is passionate about delivering safe, high‑quality consumer care. In this role, you will provide direct care to consumers in alignment with individual nursing care plans, working under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your practice will reflect the scope and responsibilities of an Enrolled Nurse and respond to the specific needs of our service.
You will play an important part in gathering accurate health information and ensuring all healthcare documentation is maintained to the highest standard. Strong communication is essential, and you will engage respectfully and effectively with consumers, families, and members of the healthcare team while following established protocols and professional expectations.

What you will bring to the role

* Current registration Division 2 (without notation) - Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Experience and demonstrated skill in mental health nursing
* Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
* Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide recovery focused and trauma informed person centred care that is family inclusive and culturally sensitive
* Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
