The United Service Club Qld is one of Australia's oldest private members clubs. Located in the historic Spring Hill precinct, the Club was founded for Officers of the Queensland Defence Force and today reflects the diversity of modern-day Queensland.
The Club provides hospitality and accommodation services to its members and guests in an atmosphere of timeless elegance and comfort. The attentive, friendly, personalised service and a warm, inviting atmosphere are the hallmarks of the Club.
With the retirement of our General Manager and Club Secretary, the Management Committee is seeking applications from candidates with a proven track record to fill this critical management position.
Qualifications:
· Tertiary Qualifications in Hospitality Management or Business (Desirable).
Attributes and Experience:
Membership & Revenue Growth: Proven experience increasing revenue through design and implementation of membership growth and revenue development strategies and plans that align with the history and culture of the Club.
Commercial Opportunity Development: Seek out, investigate and analyse commercial opportunities that align with the Club's ethos and can serve as a parallel income stream in addition to the Club's core business.
Strong People Skills: Adept at fostering a positive and collaborative team environment as well as interacting with members and guests within the contemporary Australian hospitality sector.
Excellence in Member Service: Dedication to delivering financially viable Member Services across dining, accommodation, and events.
Asset Management: Demonstrated capability in managing and optimising resources to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Logistics & Project Management: Navigate the complexities of creating and executing high end member events and event logistics.
Club Operations: Previous senior management experience within private member clubs (or similar venues) with a current RSA, RMLV & Approved Manager, or ability to obtain.
Club Secretary: Advanced communication skills, with demonstrated capability in delivering at CXO, Committee or Board level.
Finance: Oversee financial aspects of the Club's operation, including budgeting, and revenue growth to enhance member services and drive profitability.
Systems: Demonstrated knowledge and capability as a user of the Microsoft Office Suite (essential) and club management software platforms (Northstar, FoundU and CitationHR highly desirable).
As General Manager & Club Secretary you will be responsible for:
Creating and executing new business and operational initiatives, with a focus on increasing revenue and membership.
Enhancing the member experience with a particular focus on the event calendar, accommodation and food and beverage offering.
Overall management of the day-to-day operations of the Club and its facilities through effective delegation to Department leads.
In line with the Club's strategic plan, design and implement commercially sound revenue development activities with a particular emphasis on realising the value on unused and vacant space within the Club house.
In collaboration with the Finance Manager provide financial planning, management and reporting to the Management Committee (P&L, Cash Flow forecasting etc).
Preparation of Annual Report and the AGM and ensuring the Club's compliance with required legislation (WHS, Liquor Licensing and Planning)
Effective communication and interaction with all stakeholders including Members and guests, the Management Committee, Managers, Staff, Contractors and Suppliers.
