Role Overview
The purpose of the role is to design, develop, test, maintain, and provide assistance with the support of applications software.
Key Responsibilities
* Designing, coding, testing and installing applications programs either in one major program or a range of programs across multiple platforms.
* Conducting design and code reviews, providing advice and support to more junior members of the team.
* Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining systems and program documentation.
* Analysis and design of applications programs and databases.
* Assist and advice in problem determination and resolution.
* Liaising with users to assist with problem determination.
* Work closely with the business analysts to evaluate possible solutions and refine the business and technical requirements.
* Ensure that solutions are developed within agreed time frames and to the agreed scope such that business requirements are met.
* Provide quality applications that are free of defects, fit for purpose, and designed for ongoing ease of support and maintenance.
* Develop solutions that meet the security and privacy standards.
* Adhere to published processes and procedures and recommend enhancements where appropriate.
* Effectively communicate the status of development activities to the Project Team.
* Exhibiting strong customer and service orientation.
* Working across teams and functions to ensure the ongoing health and performance of IT systems are maintained and enhanced.
* Well versed with Agile ways of working.
* Consistently responding rapidly to high severity systems problems; resolving them quickly and effectively.
* Effectively communicate across all levels of the organisation.
Required Skills And Experience
* 6+ years of experience in Programming and Applications Design, with a minimum of 4 years in a large IT site, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline.
* Commercially proven experience in developing applications, including at least 4 years working with Microsoft .NET and proficient in C# language, architecture, and design standards.
* Frontend Development
o Strong experience with ASP.NET and MVC for building responsive web applications.
* Backend Development
o Proficient in .NET, .NET Core, C#, and Entity Framework.
o Experience with Web API, SOAP services, and XML integration.
* Database
o Solid knowledge of SQL Server and SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI).
* Cloud Platforms
o Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
* DevOps & Tools
o Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Terraform.
o Proficient in Jira and Confluence for agile project management and documentation.
* Extensive knowledge of dependency injection and Entity framework.
* Developed knowledge of Object Orientated (OO) analysis and design, OO methodologies and techniques.
* Strong programming aptitude.
* Ability to understand the essential needs of users and meet these in well-designed programs.
* Experience in component and assembly testing.
* In depth knowledge of the SDLC.
* Knowledge of common debugging techniques.
* Experience in planning and estimating personal and other's work effort.
* Ability to communicate problems of a technical nature to all levels of management and users.
* Skills in conducting structured analysis and problem analysis.
