Prosecution Services provides the prosecutorial function in Queensland Magistrates and Childrens Courts, offering legal advice and a broad range of prosecutorial functions, including court appearances on all matters.Rockhampton Police Prosecution Corps is a medium-sized establishment with both sworn and civilian prosecutors, supported by administrative staff.Prosecutors handle police-related matters in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court District and serve Magistrates Courts at Yeppoon, Woorabinda, and Biloela.This position offers broad experience across all Magistrates Court criminal matters, developing extensive skills and expertise in prosecution.Your Key AccountabilitiesProvide prosecution services within the area of responsibility.Represent the Service and its members in court proceedings and applications before Magistrates, Children's, and Coroners Courts.Offer legal advice on court processes within the area of responsibility.Ensure high-quality briefs of evidence are provided by police.Collaborate with police, legal professionals, government agencies, and the community to establish effective working relationships and achieve policing outcomes.Identify environmental factors affecting the work area and contribute to legal research, arguments, submissions, opinions, and advice.Maintain high standards of performance and conduct in daily activities.Role RequirementsMandatory:Admission, eligibility for immediate admission, or entitlement to practice as a legal practitioner in Queensland.Applications remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Justice & Legal
